My friend recently shared with me a very simple and cost effective way to clean make-up brushes and I just couldn’t wait to share about it! I’m not sure about you, but cleaning my make-up brushes didn’t sit very high on the list of important things to clean. I guess I never really had thought about it before!
Truth is though, after using your makeup brushes even just a few times, your face’s natural oils, the makeup, and any other dust or dirt can begin to build up on to the bristles. Pretty gross to think about right? Spending a few moments cleaning your brushes every once in a while can help keep those germs from getting transferred to your face. Not to mention it can help keep your brush’s bristles soft and most effective!
SO… now that I’ve got you thoroughly worried about the condition of your brushes, want to know my little secret for keeping them clean?
Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap.. That’s it! This soap smells delicious, cleans great and is all natural and organic. I mean, can we get any better?

With that being said here are five simple and creative ways to make your home more inviting this holiday season!
Still having trouble figuring out what to get for your mom(sister, friend, grandma, neighbor etc)? Women can be just as challenging as men sometimes to buy for. Here are a few ideas that are sure to please at least a few people on that lengthy Christmas shopping list!
In my true late fashion here I am with an advent calendar a week late! I almost decided to skip a calendar this year since I had kind of missed the deadline for one, but this year I had something special in mind so I went ahead and made it happen.
This advent season Tanner and I are trying to focus more on relationships and time based activities rather than material things. To go along with this theme I decided that instead of having a gift based advent calendar it could be nice to focus more on the blessings that we have been given.
If you have been searching around pinterest at all this holiday season you may have noticed a growing trend. Gold is pretty much everywhere you look. And I can see why! It is perfectly festive and adds so much cheer to any room. Happy Decorating!

It is freezing here. I can’t handle it! But I’m going to go ahead and pretend that this cold weather in Kansas City is just a chance for me to wear my new coat and boots.
Mid-November is that time of year where I trick myself into thinking that maybe, just possibly it may not get TOO cold. That maybe this year the random 30 degree days here and there is as bad as it’s going to get. And then January comes…and I realize I live in Missouri and it’s just going to get really cold–no questions asked! This year though, I decided to combat this freezing weather with some really great boots and an extra warm coat. Take that winter! ;)
