The Perfect Weather

That perfect in-between weather is my favorite feeling. You know what I am talking about. When it is so nice outside that you almost don’t even notice the weather. You aren’t hot or cold…just perfectly comfortable.

Unfortunately we live in Kansas City, so the total number of days that fit all of those guidelines are about 3/365. But when we get them all I ever want to do is be outside! We experienced a day like this last week and it was so great.
(and happened to fall on our day off! Lucky us!)

So of course I took it as a chance to pull out a comfy skirt and dance around in the street! Because that’s what all reasonable adults do!

But really, give it a try.

Bonlook Virtual Stylist Consultation

Glasses have always been tricky for me. I have a smaller head and it can make it pretty frustrating to find a pair of glasses that I like and fit the shape and size of my head. Especially for a reasonable price! Luckily for me, Bonlook is currently offering a new virtual stylist consultation service. All you have to do is fill out a short questionnaire about your personal style and face shape, and they will create a custom page just for you with a short personalized video giving suggestions on what frames will work best for you. How great is that??

I completed the process for my own personal consultation which you can see here!

A Year Ago Today

A year ago today was a big day for Tanner and I. We had just gotten home two days before from a two week trip to Europe, then drove straight from the airport to one of my closest friend’s weddings, and then two days later got the keys to our new loft in Kansas City. And on top of all that were handed the keys to our soon-to-be coffee shop.

It was a whirlwind to say the least, but I wouldn’t trade those days for anything. This past year was full of more blessings than I could ever imagine. Through Quay Coffee I have met some of the most influential and amazing people. My heart could not be more full today as I look back on all that we have been blessed with.

DIY No Slip Rug

“Challenge accepted.”  –How I met your mother anyone?
A couple of my favorite bloggers have been doing a seasonal “Pinterest Challenge” for the past year or so. Basically their motto is “Stop pinning and start doing!” Great plan right?

I went to Target and ran across a great rug that was marked down to $7.00. I immediately knew that 1.) I should buy it. 2.) Tanner would hate it right from the start because it was so slick.
Luckily for him I already had a plan. I remembered seeing a pin about a DIY non-slip rug. I decided to give it a try myself. The original DIY used caulk, but I gave it a try with hot glue. So far it is working great! And Tanner approves!

Hearts and Stripes Forever

This past weekend felt like a whirlwind. Have you ever had one of those weekends where you feel like you blink and it is monday morning? And yet at the same time friday feels like a lifetime ago? This weekend was filled with such joy for Tanner and I. We celebrated with two couples back to back as they married their best friends, and then ended the weekend with a cinco de mayo birthday party for our friend Ali.

It is weekends like these that I have to just sit back and count my blessings for the relationships that Tanner and I have formed. There is really nothing like standing next to your husband as you watch the ones you love marry each other. I am so thankful.

Hats Off!

Yesterday Tanner and I took a day trip out to Cole Camp, Missouri. If you have never heard of it I don’t blame you–this town is SMALL and out in the middle of nowhere. We went there to take our poor VW bus to get painted. This past winter during one of the two big snow storms that we had, our bus got hit by a car. I can’t tell you how sad I was about this. Luckily one of our close friends is a VW bus mechanic and got her all fixed up for us. We then tracked down the guy who did the last paint job on it–straight from Cole Camp, Missouri! :) It was about a two hour drive from Kansas City, and we were a little unsure how the bus would do driving that distance, but we made it!

Oh Baby

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of celebrating a great friend of mine and her almost-here baby boy. Let me just tell you how excited I am for this little guy to get here. (Get outta here baby fever!) The baby shower was hosted at a friend’s beautiful home and Vanessa and I were in charge of the decor. We decided to go with a vintage toy theme. The new mother-to-be loves little vintage touches so we knew it was the perfect theme to celebrate her sweet little boy.

It was such a joy to celebrate with her and get her ready for this next season of life! We love you Riley! xoxo!
